DVSA Diesel Update Special Notice
Sun/Snap-on DSS 10 diesel smoke meters will be updateable to the new specifications
On 20 May 2018 the new roadworthiness directive will introduce new MOT emission limits for some diesel vehicles.
This includes the introduction of testing vehicles to the manufacturer’s plate value, when present along with a new lower default limit for newer vehicles. These new limits should only be used from 20 May 2018.
We are pleased to advise users that all Sun/Snap-on DSS 10 diesel smoke meters will be updateable to the new specifications as detailed in the DVSA special notice 07-17.
We are currently working on the necessary changes to comply with these requirements.
Over the coming weeks Snap-on will provide you with your specific software update (model dependant) and software activation code for install on your emissions unit.
Should you not want to have your Sun/Snap-on DSS 10 unit updated please contact the Snap-on office with your account number and serial number of the DSS 10 to be removed from the schedule.
