Step 1: Adding Technician Certifications on AutoAuth

AutoAuth is a third-party application. Fees and pricing are set and managed by AutoAuth, not Snap-on. Refer to AutoAuth FAQ for further AutoAuth help.  

  1. Log into your account at AutoAuth.com.
  2. In the top right corner, click the icon with two wrenches.
  3. Select ‘Subscriptions’.
  4. Click the dropdown box that says ‘Add Tech Certification’ (Figure 1).
  5. Select the amount of certifications you want to add and click ‘Add Tech Certification’ to prompt payment information. Select 'Confirm'.

Step 2: Verifying ID

  1. Log into your account at AutoAuth.com. 
  2. In the top right corner, click the initials, then ‘My Profile’. 
  3. Input phone number under the ‘AutoAuth Certified Technician Status’ section. Click ‘Send Confirmation Code’. Enter the code and select ‘Submit Verification Code’ (Figure 2).  
  4. Once phone number is confirmed, click ‘Verify ID Document’. Use your phone’s camera to scan the QR code. 
  5. This will open a webpage on your phone. Scroll down and select 'Get Started'. 
  6. Read the terms and conditions and privacy policy. Select 'Agree and Proceed'.
  7. You will now be prompted to capture a photo of your face. Select 'Start'.
    1. The photo will capture automatically. 
    2. Select 'Continue'. 
  8. You will be prompted for information:
    1. Select the issuing country. 
    2. Select the type of document you would like to upload. 
  9. You will be prompted to capture a photo of the document. Select 'Take Photo'.
    1. The photo will capture automatically. 
    2. Select 'Continue'. 
    3. Repeat the process for the back of the document.
  10. Return to AutoAuth.com. 
    1. Select 'Submit AutoAuth Certification Request'.

Step 3: Linking OEM to Technician Profile

  1. Go to AltusDrive.com on a new tab and click 'Manage Existing Account'.
  2. Sign in to your Technician Profile 

    IMPORTANT: Make sure you are signing in under Technician Profile, not Shop Profile. 
  3. Open the 'Security Link' tab on the left (Figure 3).
  4. Click the blue '+' next to 'Mercedes-Benz US Only'.
  5. Add required information as prompted  
    1. Account Information 

      NOTE: A 4-digit Profile Access Code is used on some newer vehicle models before gaining certain functions and features.
    2. Shop Information 

      IMPORTANT: This information will appear in your Vehicle System Reports.
  6. Click ‘Save and Next’.
  7. Enter AutoAuth username (NOT email) and password.
    NOTE: To find username, click initials in the top right corner of AutoAuth.com.  
  8. Check the required boxes and save.
  9. Restart all diagnostic scanners connected to this account to sync.
