TAKE ACTION NOW: DIAGNOSTIC TOOL SERVICES WILL EXPIRE

This is an important update about OEM requirements and how that is going to affect your Snap-on® diagnostic tool if you do not install your software now.

Who does this notice apply to?

  • Pre-Paid Plan Participants
  • Subscription Program Participants
  • Customers who purchased a regular software upgrade (1x purchase) from January 10, 2022 to April 3, 2022

As one of the above you have already purchased the latest software, release 22.2, but have not yet installed it. It is important that you install it now to prevent expiration and denied access to web-based services you use regularly.

What you might lose if you don't install your software.

Keeping up to date means you get access to the latest vehicles, systems and engines. Depending on your product, you also get uninterrupted access to Fast-Track® Intelligent Diagnostics, Technical Service Bulletins, Service Resets and Relearns, SureTrack®, Snap-on® Cloud*, Oil Specs and Resets, Tire and Wheel Service. And now this includes Security Link™ (previously Secure Vehicle Gateway™).

Vehicle manufacturers are implementing security features to prevent unauthorized intrusions into their systems - Much like FCA Secured Gateway. This is changing the way that scan tools need to work.

If you work on FCA or Ford vehicles the best way to avoid interruption is to make sure your scan tool is running the latest software.

You can do it by installing your software latest version now.

How? Select your platform from below for instructions.

* Snap-on Cloud uploads will cease without the latest software, but access to previous loaded records remains.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is Snap-on doing this?

As the security protocols are ever changing, Snap-on needs to ensure that any manufacturer's changes are implemented immediately. It is only possible to do this on products operating the latest software.

What about my FCA subscription?

Manufacturers may also require a subscription to their system to allow the authentication to complete. This is not the same as a Snap-on subscription or software upgrade.

When will it take effect?

Beginning July 18th these changes will start to take place.
