Technicians will benefit from a wide range of enhancements with the latest Snap-on diagnostic software upgrade – including a whole new way of accessing vehicle coverage data.
As well as bringing platforms up to date with new models and productivity-boosting innovations, Snap-on has introduced an online vehicle coverage guide.
This system allows users to see the latest vehicle coverage information added for each manufacturer and also quickly access all of the coverage data or easily locate specific vehicles and systems.
The data can be broken down using a search and filter system and can also be printed for future reference.
The coverage guide is also mobile-friendly, giving technicians all of the information they need at their fingertips without having to dig deep into a printed book.
Highlights of the upgrade:
- All 32 UK manufacturers included in the software have received a code scan and clear all codes update
- Twenty-one new models have been added, including three electric variants
- Fifteen manufacturers are updated to model year 2019
- Six manufacturers have new advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) coverage
- Two manufacturers now have all-new Diagnostics Over Internet Protocol (DoIP) coverage – the latest method of communication between the vehicle and the diagnostic platform
- IVECO has been added as a new manufacturer
The addition of IVECO brings with it nine systems and functional tests for the manufacturer, with service special functions including oil change light reset, rail pressure sensor replacement and particle filter regeneration.
This is supported by a case study about a non-starting IVECO Daily, which joins the dozens of studies already in the software.
Help for working on electric vehicles
The growth of electric and hybrid vehicle sales in the UK has been reflected in the upgrade with new additions to help businesses deal with the technology they employ.
Three new electric models have been added – Jaguar I-PACE, Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC, each with dozens of systems – while new systems for two of the most popular electric vehicles, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and Nissan Leaf, have also been included.
Users of Snap-on scan tools who upgrade to the latest software release will find their experiences improved to simplify and streamline many workshop processes.
On the ZEUS platform, a new category has been added to allow technicians to view all applicable service resets and relearns for the vehicle they are working on in one place rather than having to locate them by searching through the various systems.
When generating a vehicle system scan report on the TRITON-D8, MODIS Edge and SOLUS Edge scan tools, users can now label their report as pre-scan or post-scan at the touch of a button – which saves time when creating reports for customers and insurance companies.
And on ZEUS and VERUS Edge, technicians can build ADAS recalibration reports on the work they have carried out, providing another way to clearly demonstrate the work they have carried out on modern driver assistance systems.
These reports can be linked to a vehicle job card and also shared with customers and insurers.
Improved ADAS coverage
ADAS coverage is enhanced in the upgrade with special function updates for six manufacturers – Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda and Mercedes.
The new upgrade includes all of the information from each previous release and, on applicable platforms, provides access to the award-winning SureTrack – Snap-on’s comprehensive source of expert knowledge and verified repair information.
