In 2018 AFL introduced a Secure Gateway (SGW) to protect vehicle related data. The SGW acts as a firewall between a diagnostic tool and the vehicle network. Often vehicle manufacturers will protect functions that involve writing data to a control module.

Snap-on worked with Stellantis to create a solution to ensure a technician can quickly and accurately diagnose and repair these vehicles.
