When turned on, your air conditioning machine will go through the system pre-checks before loading the main program.

Once this is complete, press OK to confirm the mandatory safety notice and the unit will then show the data page. Here’s a brief overview of what that displays:

  • The software version the unit is running
  • Its current database version
  • Refrigerant gas volume (the available amount is always 2kg less than the total amount in the tank)
  • Oil/UV dye and waste oil data (you can fill or empty the bottles as required)
  • Internal sensor data

The homepage is then displayed, showing the following options:

  • Automatic – use this for AC servicing, recovery, vacuum and refill in one complete cycle
  • Manual – select in order to carry out just a single process
  • Custom – this is similar to the automatic process but uses pre-defined settings
  • Setup – allows for configuration of the system including languages and units of measurement
  • Maintenance – includes filter changing and bottle filling
  • Data – open and review the data page

Let’s select the Automatic procedure and follow the steps through from start to finish.

Once you have chosen the option from the homepage, select the type of vehicle you are working on – standard or hybrid – and progress to the vehicle setup page.

Enter your desired vacuum time (the suggested minimum is 20 minutes). You can only edit the automatic leak test time from the Setup menu so then move on to POE and enter the oil required to be added to the vehicle, or select auto to replace any oil removed on the recovery cycle.

Manually enter the gas filling required or use the inbuilt database by tapping the folder icon to the right and following the steps to find the vehicle you are working on and get a default figure.

Finally, select the type of connection required. The default option is to use High Pressure (HP) and Low Pressure (LP), but you can choose to use just one of those if required.

At the next screen, enter the vehicle information as required – plate number, VIN, miles travelled) then review and confirm before pressing OK to proceed.

Make sure that you are wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) before you connect and open the HP and/or LP couplings to the vehicle’s AC system and press OK.

This will start the recovery phase, during which the unit will check for oil recovered from the vehicle and complete the gas recovery cycle.

Once this has completed, the vacuum test will start automatically, followed by the leak test. On completion of the leak test, the unit will re-gas the vehicle.

When prompted, close the vehicle couplers and confirm to the unit that this has been done. The unit will now automatically clear the connection hoses of any gas.

Disconnect the couplers from the vehicle and store them safely on the rear of the unit. This completes the automatic cycle.

If you just want to run one procedure, select Manual from the homepage and choose from one of the following options:

  • Recovery and Recycling (High Precision)
  • Recovery and Recycling (Standard)
  • Oil Injection
  • Gas Filling
  • Vacuum

Choosing Setup from the homepage means you can configure different settings including Language and Header Print, while if you opt for Maintenance you can run other system checks and calibrations.
