Starting in 2018, FCA® or Fiat® Chrysler® started putting what they call a secured gateway on their vehicles. So essentially, it locks out many of the functions for their vehicles from the outside world, scan Tools and the like. So in order to access that, you need to have the tool register with what they call AutoAuth®. That is their service that they use in order to authorize the tools. So let's walk through how we would add this tool to AutoAuth® and get an account set up so we can help access those vehicles.
So, as we can see, I'm connected to this 2019 Jeep® Grand Cherokee®, and it says Limited on the screen. So I'm not hooked up with Security Link™. I'm not hooked up with Auto Off. So I need to connect the tool to the service. So in order to do that on the tool, we need to go into our Tools menu.
So I'll hit the home screen, go into Tools, and then there's this function right here. It says, get connected. Then it gives me the serial number, the Pin code, and the other code that I'll need to add to my account. So let's go on the laptop and see how to do that. Okay, so now over on the laptop, I've loaded into Autowauth.com.
Now, if you don't have an account for AutoAuth®, you can hit this register button down on the bottom. You'll need to add in your personal information, your credit card information, and any shop information. Now, if you already have an account, you can simply log in. So, I already have an account. I'll log in here.
And then here's our landing page. So you can see on the left hand side at my Activity, Manage Tools, Manage User, and so on. So over on the left hand side, I will go to Manage Tools, because I need to add this tool in to my account. So you see, I already have one tool in there, but it's not this one. So I want to add a tool.
So I'll just go to Add Tool up here on the top, and then I have to add the manufacturer. So that's Snap-on, of course.
And then my tool is all other models. There also is a TPMS 5 that'll be in here. So if you do have a TPMS 5, you can add it as well. Serial number. I will add that in.
So it is this one right here, and we'll add the tool. So once you have your tool registered with your AutoAuth® account, as long as you have your AutoAuth® credentials also entered in the Security Link™ Profile Manager with your Snap-on page, should be good to go and should be easy to get right into the car.
